- [Bid Award, Paving; Unity Park and Community Gardens: Following the review of bids submitted, Staff recommends awarding the bid to Asphalt Roads for the total sum of $58,000.00 for the paving of the parking lot and driveway of the Unity Park and Community Gardens. Asphalt Roads is appropriately licensed in the state of North Carolina, is adequately equipped to perform work of this nature and has completed many paving jobs throughout Caldwell County. - [Shana Oakley, 305 Resaca Street, expressed concern about the empty buildings in the downtown area and mentioned how the owners could possibly put a display in their windows to make them more attractive and appealing. Ms. Oakley said she was passionate about downtown and suggested that Council consider having a plan in place to protect the vacant buildings. Ms. Oakley also mentioned downtown did not have a play area for children. She shared that Dr. Terry owns the property of the former dog park site and he may possibly be interested in donating or leasing the property for a playground area.](https://sunshinemeetings.org/event/3692/item/30714)
- [Crystal Moore, 537 Hill Street, addressed City Council about Kentwood Park that is located behind Davenport Elementary School. Ms. Moore explained the park is not currently being maintained and needs a lot of work.
