Board of Adjustment Meeting

The Burke County Board of Adjustment will meet on July 9th at 6:00 PM to consider several requests that could impact our community. The main focus of the meeting will be reviewing applications for special use permits (SUPs), which allow specific structures or activities that aren't typically permitted under standard zoning rules. These include requests for accessory buildings like sheds and structures, as well as a proposed public utility facility involving battery storage. Additionally, the Board will hear an appeal regarding the zoning of cargo shipping containers on North Powerhouse Road.

The Board will be voting to approve or deny each of these SUP requests and the zoning appeal, which could affect property values, neighborhood character, and potential development in Burke County. Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting or submit written comments by Friday, July 5th, as public input will be considered during the proceedings. Finally, the Board will approve minutes from a previous meeting and schedule their next meeting for August 13th.
