Sunshine Meetings is run by Sunshine Labs. This page explains what information we collect when you use sunshinemeetings.org, how we use it, and how to have it deleted.
Public meeting records
Most of this site is built from public government records: meeting agendas, minutes, documents and videos, and the transcripts, summaries and voting records we produce from them. These include the names, roles, votes and public remarks of officials and of people who speak at public meetings, as they appear in the public record.
Information you give us
You can browse the site without an account. If you create one, we store:
- your name, email address and profile picture, from the sign-in you use;
- your saved searches, alerts and notification preferences;
- feedback, reports and usability-test responses you choose to send us.
Information collected automatically
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, which sets cookies and collects information such as pages visited, approximate location and device type. Our servers keep standard logs and error reports to keep the site running.
How we use it
We use this information to run the site, send the alerts and emails you ask for, answer your feedback and improve the service. We do not sell your personal information.
Social media
We post announcements about Sunshine Meetings to our own social media pages, such as Facebook. Our Facebook app only publishes those posts to our Page. It does not collect information about you from Facebook.
Deleting your data
If you have an account, you can delete it at any time from your profile page. This removes your account along with your saved searches and notification preferences.
To ask us to delete any other information about you, email [email protected] with the subject “Data deletion request”. We will confirm and complete the request within 30 days. Public meeting records are part of the public record and are generally not removed.
