Planning Board Meeting

The Burke County Planning Board will meet on December 5th at 5:30 PM to discuss several proposals that could impact our community. The primary focus will be on a proposed 14-lot residential subdivision called Maverick Acres, along with a request to rezone property at 0 Liberty Church Road for residential use. A significant portion of the meeting will also be dedicated to considering a proposed change to our zoning ordinance that would allow temporary RV or camper use during construction or repair of homes.

During the meeting, the Planning Board will hear reports from the planning department and presentations from those submitting these proposals. There will also be a period for public comment, and the board is expected to take action – potentially voting on whether to approve or deny these requests. Residents interested in providing input can submit written comments by December 2nd at 5:00 PM.
