The departure of Sally was also noted, prompting a discussion about reassigning her responsibilities related to hazard mitigation planning and transportation objectives. Julie Shellhead will now be examining the hazard mitigation plan, while a decision on assigning a commission member to transportation objectives was deferred until the October meeting.

A resident also shared an observation of a bobcat on their property, serving as a reminder of the rich local wildlife that Montreat aims to protect.
