Event Preview
The Burke County Board of Adjustment will meet on May 14th at 6:00 PM to discuss several items, including approving minutes from their previous meeting. The main focus of the evening will be a public hearing regarding a request from John Wright to build a large detached garage at his property on High Peak Mountain Road. This special use permit, designated SUP 2024-07, will be carefully reviewed by the Board after a report from the Planning Department and presentations from both the applicant and interested members of the public.
The Board will ultimately vote on whether to approve or deny Mr. Wright’s special use permit application, a decision that could impact property values and neighborhood character. Residents who wish to share their thoughts on the proposed garage are encouraged to submit written comments by Friday, May 10th. The Board's decision will be made following the public hearing and will directly affect Mr. Wright’s ability to proceed with construction.
