Event Preview
The Burke County Planning Board will meet on May 23rd at 5:30 PM to discuss several items, with a primary focus on a rezoning request that could significantly impact the area around Lenior Road in Morganton. The Board will consider a proposal to rezone nearly 9 acres of land from residential to general business, which could allow for commercial development. Residents are encouraged to submit written comments or concerns about this rezoning request by May 17th.
The Planning Board will also formally approve the minutes from their previous meeting and announce the date of their next meeting, scheduled for June 27th. A previously discussed rezoning application related to the Great Meadows project has been postponed and will be addressed at a later date. This meeting will be held in person only at the County Services Building, and residents interested in learning more about these topics or sharing their views are encouraged to attend.
