Event Preview

The upcoming Town Council meetings will cover a range of topics, including zoning regulations, personnel policies, and recognizing important environmental dates. Discussions will center on proposed changes to zoning ordinances related to data centers and a rezoning/special use permit review for Birkshire Trace, both of which will involve public hearings. Additionally, the council will consider adding Juneteenth as a paid holiday for town employees and formally recognize Endangered Species Day.

Several key decisions are expected during these meetings, particularly regarding the approval of the personnel policy amendment and the Endangered Species Day proclamation. The public hearings on the zoning and rezoning matters will also culminate in decisions that could impact development within the town. Residents are encouraged to attend or watch these meetings, especially if they have an interest in land use planning or town employee benefits.

Beyond the immediate agenda items, residents should also note upcoming events like a budget workshop on May 7th and the annual Robert G. Parrish, Sr. Memorial Golf Tournament on May 22nd. The council will also be finalizing the budget year closeout in June, and planning for a summer concert featuring Sound Invasion Band on July 31st.
