The Town Council will meet on March 11th to discuss a range of topics impacting Black Mountain. Key items include recognizing important observances like Transgender Day of Visibility and Women’s History Month, as well as a presentation on new rules regarding water line replacement to address lead and copper concerns. The Council will also consider several grant applications aimed at improving our community, including projects to restore streams on the golf course, develop a bicycle and pedestrian plan, and create a multi-use trail at Ridgecrest.

Several important decisions are on the horizon. The Council will vote on routine items through a consent agenda, and public hearings are scheduled for April 8th to consider the voluntary annexation of property and a rezoning request on Francis Avenue. Residents interested in these developments, particularly those affecting land use and community planning, should mark their calendars for the April 8th hearings.

Finally, the Council will be addressing financial matters like budget amendments and approving contracts for services such as auditing. They’ll also discuss updates to parks and recreation programs, including pool rates, summer camp staffing, and the ongoing Cragmont Park renovation project. Residents can find more details on these items and others by reviewing the full agenda available on the town website.
