The Active Mobility Commission will hold its regular monthly meeting on June 18th at 6:00 p.m. in the Town Hall conference room. The meeting will cover a range of topics related to improving active transportation options in Black Mountain, including updates on trails and greenways, the feasibility of using town properties for mobility projects, parking at Lake Tomahawk, and plans for Blue Ridge Road. Commissioners will also discuss any new business that arises during the meeting.
A key focus of this meeting will be determining priorities for upcoming projects and addressing ongoing concerns, such as safety issues in the connector tunnel at Veteran’s Park. The Commission will also be discussing potential funding opportunities to support full streets related to the I-40 interstate plan. Interested residents are welcome to attend and participate during the public comment portion of the meeting.
For those wanting more details, the full agenda and supporting documents are available on the Town of Black Mountain website under "Town Government > Active Mobility." This is a great opportunity to learn about ongoing efforts to enhance walking, biking, and other active transportation options within our community.
