The upcoming Board of Adjustment meeting, originally scheduled for April 17th, was unfortunately postponed due to a lack of attendees. However, the agenda focused on standard board business alongside a key decision regarding a variance request for the property at 501 Montreat Road. This variance would allow homeowners to proceed with a small addition to their home, potentially impacting local buffer regulations.
Previously, on March 20th, the Board approved a similar variance request for another property, allowing construction to move forward after finding that existing buffer regulations were not warranted. Board members are also encouraged to participate in an upcoming training opportunity offered by the UNC School of Government on May 7th.
