The upcoming Town Council meeting on May 11th will cover a range of important topics impacting Black Mountain. Discussions are planned regarding key town projects, financial matters, and potential updates to our zoning regulations. The council will also recognize the contributions of community members and address ongoing infrastructure concerns, including water use restrictions and repairs to the Lower Watershed Dam.

A significant portion of the meeting will be dedicated to making decisions that directly affect our community. The council will appoint a new member to the Town Council, vote on zoning amendments related to data processing centers (following public comment), and consider resolutions recognizing individuals and engaging with healthcare stakeholders. Several financial approvals are also on the agenda, including a review of tax collection reports and authorizations for essential services.

Finally, residents should note that the council will be considering a proposal to name the Lake Tomahawk Tennis Courts in honor of Judy Eubanks, and will be discussing options for repairing the Lower Watershed Dam. Staff will also begin developing a new Electronic Payment Policy, which will be presented for review at the June 8th meeting.
