The Board of Adjustment will convene on September 18th to review requests impacting local zoning regulations. The primary focus of the meeting will be a request for a variance at 107 Sixth Street, concerning a minor roof overhang extension, and a proposal for a Planned Unit Development (PUD) at 399 Blue Ridge Road, which would include 50 deeply affordable housing units. The Board will be voting on whether to approve the variance for 107 Sixth Street, and initially planned to vote on the PUD proposal as well.
However, due to a lack of available board members, consideration of the PUD proposal has been postponed until October 15th. Citizens interested in the development of affordable housing options within Black Mountain should note this rescheduled hearing date and time. The Board ultimately approved the variance for 107 Sixth Street, allowing a slight encroachment of the roof eave.
