Several departments requested funding increases, including cybersecurity costs, park security, new patrol vehicles, and guardrails for unsafe roads. The total recommended expansion budget was $1,272,086, which includes recurring and one-time expenses, as well as salary adjustments and a reserve for the Town Hall redevelopment capital project.

The council took decisive action on two key regulatory matters, passing both measures unanimously with a 5-0 vote. First, the council approved Ordinance No. 2024-04, establishing a 12-month moratorium on data centers within Woodfin town limits. This decision allows the town time to research and develop regulations for this rapidly evolving technology, aligning with the ongoing update to the comprehensive land development ordinance. Second, the council approved Ordinance 2026-05, a text amendment allowing Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) as a limited use within the Community Shopping District. These units are restricted to occupancy by business owners, employees, or family members directly tied to the business.
