The Buncombe County Board of Commissioners will hold a meeting on August 18th, where they'll address several key issues impacting the community. The agenda includes recognition of local award winners and an update from organizations receiving strategic partnership grants. A significant portion of the meeting will be dedicated to public hearings, including a review of an economic development agreement with Southeastern Container, a discussion about infrastructure improvements funded by disaster recovery resources, and consideration of a zoning request concerning the KOA campground.
Several important decisions are expected during this meeting, including votes on approving contracts and resolutions related to the Southeastern Container agreement and disaster recovery funding. The Board will also be voting on a resolution supporting "Lennie's Law" and awarding a contract for design services for a new Indoor Recreation Center. Citizens are encouraged to attend or watch the meeting, particularly during the public hearings where they can provide input on zoning and infrastructure matters.
Finally, the Board will also be reviewing potential appointments to various advisory boards and addressing routine administrative approvals.
